GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's volleyball team fell to Northeast-10 Conference foe Adelphi University, 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-18), on Friday night at the Center for Recreation and Sport. The match was the first of a weekend set in New York.

THE ACTION
- Adelphi jumped out to a 21-7 lead in set No. 1, led by McQueen, who notched three kills and four aces, and Alberda, who had three kills. Senior Caitlin O'Connor's (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) kill and a Patterson ace sparked a 3-0 run, but the Panthers then compiled four straight kills to win the first set.
- Set No. 2 featured 12 ties as neither team led by more than three points throughout the entirety of the set. The Purple Knights capitalized on an attack error to take a three-point lead at 10-7 and scored three points in a row on a kill from Patterson and two attack errors by Adelphi to take their second three-point lead of the set at 17-14. The Panthers then went on a clinching 11-6 run, led by four kills from McCarthy.
- The Panthers started set No. 3 by going on an 11-4 run. The Purple and Gold scored the next four points, highlighted by a kill from Patterson. Adelphi went on a 6-1 run to take a 17-9 lead before Patterson had two kills in a 6-2 response, and Saint Michael's was down 20-16 after a Welch kill. The Panthers ended the night on a 5-2 run, receiving kills from three players.
