THE ACTION
- The two teams played to a scoreless draw in the first period, with Murphy paving the way for the Purple and Gold, making saves on all eight shot attempts from the Hawks.
- Saint Anselm broke the draw at 16:17 in the second period when Cordeiro found the net.
- Allain responded in less than a minute at 17:08, pushing home a second effort at the left post.
- Just eight seconds after the Hawks killed off a Saint Michael's power play, Brackett gave his team a 2-1 lead at 5:18 of the third period.
- Bloom scored his first NCAA goal at 8:31 after stealing a loose puck in front of the crease and shooting over the shoulder of the Saint Anselm goaltender for the second equalizer of the contest.
- The Hawks responded to take the lead 3-2 at 11:54 when a loose puck found the stick of Van Der Veen in front of the net and he found the back of the net.
- Junior Brennan McFarland (Greeley, Colo./Colorado Northern Eagles) assisted Taylor's first goal of the night at 15:48 and after sending a shot from the point that Taylor was able to deflect with his stick past the goalie to tie the game for the last time.
- Taylor scored the game-winner in overtime after sophomore Quinn McCarthy (Melrose, Mass./Holderness School) won a scrum against the boards at the blue line and found an open Taylor, who took a one-timer from the slot to seal the victory at 2:36.
