Women's Basketball Downed by Regionally-Ranked Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team trailed by two points at halftime before suffering an 81-51 loss against regionally-ranked Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday during Northeast-10 Conference play in Spirou Field House. The Penmen were fifth in this week's D2CSC East Region poll.

THE ACTION
  • Bolstered by 52.9% shooting, including a 4-of-6 three-point effort, the Purple Knights led 22-18 after one quarter. Lyden turned in all seven of her bench points in the stanza, while Brophy knocked down a pair of threes.
  • The teams proceeded to play through four second-period ties, and Slaven's triple with 1:33 left brought her team within 35-33 at halftime.
  • In a 37-all game, Timberlake knocked down a three at 8:35 of the third quarter to spark a 22-4 run, during which she netted eight points and Wager had six. The hosts' lead never dipped below 16 points from there.
