Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team earned its third straight one-point win by holding off The College of Saint Rose, 78-77, on Tuesday evening during Northeast-10 Conference play in Nolan Gymnasium. The first-place Purple and Gold has made a last-second defensive stop in each of the three contests. The Purple Knights, who received votes toward this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) national poll, extended their winning streak to six games while starting 5-0 in NE10 play for the first time since 2000-01.

THE ACTION
- Saint Rose used a 10-0 run to take a 16-8 lead at 12:41 of the first half on Louis's lay-up.
- Four Purple Knights scored in a 10-0 run that later put the visitors up 28-24 at 5:27 on Reid's triple.
- The Golden Knights countered with the next 11 points en route to leading by a game-high 14 (46-32) with 18:34 to go in the second half.
- Saint Michael's used a 19-4 comeback to go back in front at 51-50 with 12:06 to go on first-year Sebastian Andersson's (Stockholm, Sweden/Korrespondensgymnasiet/Eastern Washington) lay-up. That proved to be the first of six lead swings in a matter of 2:13. Neither team lead by more than five points again until Louis' bucket staked Saint Rose to a 69-63 edge at 4:45.
- The teams combined to shoot 6-for-6 between 3:39 and 2:16, with Fricas' scoring all seven Saint Michael's points. His jumper capped the run to bring the visitors within 75-72, and another Fricas jumper made it a one-point contest at 1:51. On the ensuing possession, Yepdo's steal and breakaway lay-up provided the Purple Knights a 76-75 lead at 1:21, and Fricas canned two free throws at 51.3 seconds to cap an 8-0 spurt.
- Barnhill's lay-up at 34.3 seconds brought Saint Rose within a single point.
- After the teams exchanged turnovers with around 20 seconds remaining, the Purple Knights went to the line with 8.2 seconds remaining. The first free throw was missed, but Duniver snagged the offensive rebound at 5.3 seconds. Another miss ensued, but tight defense by Marold and Reid on an inbound pass in front of the Golden Knight bench with 1.4 ticks to go denied the hosts a look at a winning shot.
