GAME FACTS
- In addition to receiving national votes from the NABC, the Purple Knights are sixth in this week's D2CSC East Region poll.
- Reid scored 19 second-half points and nearly became the third Purple Knight in as many games with 20 in the second stanza, following Yepdo last Saturday and Fricas on Tuesday.
- Saint Michael's is now 2-0 in the all-time series, having last faced the Redhawks on Dec. 29, 1999.
- Saint Michael's last won seven in a row amid a school-record 15-game streak between the 1999-2000 and 2000-01 campaigns. The Purple Knights' 7-1 start is also their best since 2000-01.
THE ACTION
- Neither team led by more than four points until Brzezinski, Duniver and Reid canned back-to-back-to-back three-pointers to spark an 11-0 run, giving Saint Michael's a 20-10 lead at 9:03 of the first half.
- Reid's three-point play with 7:46 remaining provided the hosts a 23-12 edge, their largest of the period.
- The Redhawks chipped away at their deficit, ultimately taking a 37-36 lead on Brooks' triple at 17:26 of the second half.
- Reid's jumper just 38 seconds later gave the Purple Knights the lead to stay, and a 13-3 run by the visitors that featured five Yepdo points made it 57-45 at 9:26.
- Saint Michael's never again led by fewer than 10 points.
