THE ACTION
- Stonehill scored on its first shot, as Lavender got a piece of Achtyl's shot from the slot but couldn't entirely stop the bid 1:56 into the contest.
- Lavender made a right-pad save of Sacca's one-timer with 12:45 gone in the first period to keep it 1-0.
- Saint Michael's went on a 5-on-3 power play for 1:29 late in the period and at one point peppered Zukow with three straight close-range shots from Tribelli, junior Mary Leys (Newport, R.I./Saint George's School) and Kennard around 14:30, but she stopped them all.
- Kennard nearly leveled the score 6:16 into the second frame, skating in alone on a breakaway, but Zukow snapped up her shot with a glove save.
- Soon thereafter, Petford's backhanded aerial pass sent Sacca in alone on Lavender, and Sacca made a nice move out front to double the lead at 7:23.
- Ruiz was denied by another Zukow glove save on a breakaway just 50 seconds into the third stanza.
- An eventful final 8:19 of regulation featured four goals, beginning when Whaley roofed a backhanded shot from a tough angle at 11:41. Petford later picked off a pass in the slot before beating Lavender to her glove side with 17:25 gone.
- With Saint Michael's on a power play in the last minute of the game, Gerebi's cross along the top of the crease was deflected out to Canterbury, who banged in the rebound at the right post with 25 seconds left. However, Petford scored 15 seconds later, pushing a shot home at the right post off of Carey's pass.
