THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights outshot the Hawks, 10-8, during the first period, and entered the intermission with the only goal on the scoreboard. A little less than halfway through the frame, Lettiere picked off a Saint Anselm pass in her own zone before skating up the left boards to net. After she and Harrison both had closed-range shots turned away, Lettiere lifted a third-effort attempt past Kelley from near the left post at 8:49.
- Turner struck for the tying power-play goal with 4:28 gone in the second period, going glove side on Mudrak from below the dot in the right circle.
- Kennard put Saint Michael's back in front at 10:29, picking up a loose puck in neutral ice before beating Kelley to her five-hole from the right circle.
- Toward the end of a five-minute power play, Ruiz pushed the lead to 3-1 by tapping home sophomore Grace Canterbury's (Eagle River, Alaska/Shattuck-Saint Mary's School) pass from the left corner at 16:45.
- Sullivan cut the deficit to one goal 6:05 into the third period, as a Saint Michael's defender tapped the puck to her stick out front before she roofed a shot past Mudrak.
- The Purple Knights regained their two-goal lead at 14:36, as Kennard backhanded a pass from below the goal line to Langbacka at the doorstep for another power-play strike.
- Golini made it 4-3 only 35 seconds later, tapping in sophomore Audrey Jackson's cross during a 2-on-1 break. A penalty was called on the play against the Purple Knights, but Mudrak stopped the only shot sent her way during the woman advantage.
- During a late Saint Michael's power play, Turner had a tying chance from the right circle padded away by Mudrak with 13 seconds to go for what proved to be the final shot of the game.
