PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team opened Northeast-10 Conference play with a 16-11 loss to No. 11 Pace University on Wednesday in Pace Stadium. The Purple Knights received a vote toward this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll, while the Setters' national ranking is according to the USILA.

THE ACTION
- The teams went back and forth through the first quarter and a half, when neither led by more than two goals. Simonson's strike off of Collins' second straight assist gave the Purple Knights a 2-1 edge at 4:24 of the first quarter, but Zabbia scored twice in a 4-1 response.
- Down 5-3, Saint Michael's received goals from Hughes (10:03) and Katavolos (9:01) 62 seconds apart to level the score midway through the second stanza.
- Pace countered with the next six goals, with Zabbia tallying four himself. The Setters never again led by fewer than five goals.
