HOOKSETT, N.H. - Senior Ryan Auger scored 37 seconds into overtime as the Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team lost to nationally-regarded Southern New Hampshire University, 10-9, on Saturday during Northeast-10 Conference play at Ouellette Stadium. The Penmen received votes toward this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll.

- After facing four nationally-ranked foes during its prior six games, Saint Michael's opposed a Penmen team receiving national votes this week.
- The Purple Knights forced overtime despite being outshot, 55-28, and outgained on faceoffs, 15-7. The visitors held the hosts scoreless on six man-up opportunities while themselves finishing 2-for-3.
- Simonson became the eighth 50-point season scorer in program history, and first since Marty Vanzo '13 exactly a decade ago. Simonson has exactly 50 points this year.

THE ACTION
- Junior Jack Terrones gave Southern New Hampshire a 3-2 edge with 31 seconds remaining in the opening quarter, but Morgan beat the final horn for the tying goal before Saint Michael's did the only scoring in the second stanza. Simonson buried the go-ahead marker at 11:02, and Chirgwin scored 1:41 later.
- The Purple Knights took a 5-3 lead into halftime and held the Penmen off the board for an 18:34 stretch until Pietz scored at 11:57 of the third. Auger tied the game at 4:17, and Pietz capped a 4-0 run at 11:37 of the fourth to give the hosts a 7-5 edge.
- Hughes (10:51), Proutt (8:47) and Simonson (7:46) scored in a matter of 3:05 to put Saint Michael's back in front, with Simonson tallying a man up.
- Graduate student Chris Valentine found the equalizer at 6:47 before Morgan intercepted a clearing pass and buried another go-ahead strike on a vacated net with 1:56 remaining.
- The Purple Knights possessed on a clear with less than a minute to go, but the Penmen forced a giveaway in the midfield before senior Tim Krutz tied the game with 22 seconds left in regulation. Saint Michael's won the ensuing faceoff but was unable to release a final shot.
- Marra won the only faceoff in overtime, as the Penmen called a quick timeout before Auger scored at 3:23.
