THE ACTION

  • Watt turned in eight stops in the opening 13:33 of the game, while Fenton contributed a defensive save, batting Esterling's high shot out of the air at the goal line during the third minute.
  • Radel broke the scoreless deadlock in the 14th minute by blasting a shot from the top of the arc into the lower right corner to finish off a corner set.
  • Thanks to Watt stopping 15 of the first 16 shots sent her way, the Purple Knights were still within 1-0 early in the third period.
  • Junior Alexis Bell dove to push a loose ball across the goal line during a 37th-minute corner sequence.
  • The Mountaineers pulled away with four goals over the final 11 minutes.
