COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team defeated Roberts Wesleyan University, 1-0, during non-conference play on Tuesday at Duffy Field. First-year Joey Manley (Burlington, Vt./Vermont Academy) scored in the 72nd minute on an assist from junior Muntasir Ahmed (Portland, Maine/Bridgton Academy/West Virginia Wesleyan) to propel the Purple Knights to victory.

- Roberts Wesleyan nearly broke the stalemate in the 19th minute when sophomore Myles Palmer took a shot at the top of the box, but his attempt was denied by Smith, who made a jumping save to send the shot over the crossbar.
- The Purple Knights had back-to-back chances in the 20th minute when Ahmed's shot was blocked by a Redhawk defender, and sophomore Ronnie Riby-Williams' (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier) rebound follow-up was just high of the upper right corner.
- Junior Drew Kull (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) made a goal line stop in the 34th minute on a strike from Palmer to keep the game at 0-0.
- Junior Ryan Noci (Peabody, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) nearly gave the Purple Knights the lead in the 50th minute, but his chance was just high of the upper left corner of the net.
- Manley scored in the 72nd minute after a heel flick on from Ahmed gave him space to take a left footed strike and find the bottom right of the net to make the score 1-0.
