Field Hockey Doubled Up by Franklin Pierce, 4-2

RINDGE, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team lost a 4-2 decision at Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday at Sodexo Field.

  • Cameron increased her season save total to 163, good for fourth ever at Saint Michael's, and 17 short of Jean Harbeck's '90 36-year-old program.
  • Loughlin potted her 42nd career goal, within one of matching Patty Porter '89 for third in program history.
THE ACTION
  • Hazley put the Ravens on the board at 8:55 of the opening quarter for the only goal by either team in the first half. Cameron made six stops in the second stanza to keep it 1-0 at halftime.
  • In the 37th minute, Loughlin leveled the teams by slipping home a shot off of Medeiros' penalty corner feed.
  • Franklin Pierce scored three times in an 8:47 span of the fourth quarter to pull away. Swanson first took first-year Abigail Tarka's backdoor pass and finished backhanded out front at 49:52 before Keller backhanded home a second effort near the left post with 53:32 gone.
  • In the 59th minute, Cameron saved a shot off of the right post, but Caputo batted in the rebound to cap the scoring surge.
  • With no time remaining, Sapienza concluded a corner sequence with a closing goal after Noorlag denied her initial effort.
