PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to Providence College, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at Schneider Arena.

  • Lavender made 17 saves in the first period before the Friars connected for two goals in the final two minutes of the period, as senior Hannah Johnson scored on a power play at 18:01 and Knapp tallied shorthanded with 11 seconds to go.
  • Senior Gaby Tribelli (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College) had an early chance at the start of the second period, but her shot was blocked by senior Lily Hendrickson 32 seconds in.
  • McGillis added two blocked shots in a span of 1:13 to prevent the Friars from extending their lead at 4:16 and 5:29.
  • Kirchmair gave the hosts a 3-0 lead at 9:24 quickly followed by Becker's power-play goal at 10:39.
  • Newpower blocked two shots from Becker within eight seconds of each other around 16:45.
  • The Friars added two goals in the first three minutes of the final period.
