Women's Ice Hockey Downed by Sacred Heart in Weekend Finale

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to Sacred Heart University, 4-1, during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) action on Saturday afternoon in Cairns Arena.

THE ACTION
  • The Pioneers tallied at 16:33 in the first period on Ella Holm's wrist shot in front of the net on an assist from Bria Holm to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.  
  • Sacred Heart doubled the lead at 11:06 in the second period when Bria Holm took a giveaway in the neutral zone before tallying.
  • Hetman scored at 2:18 in the third period on a shot from the point on an assist from Jerylo to cut the lead in half.
  • Sacred Heart tallied two more goals in the remaining minutes of the third period, including one with on a power play at 15:10.
