THE ACTION
  • Chaplain put her team on the board at 14:49 of the opening period, putting home a second effort out front, before Callander followed suit 1:19 later, punching in a second bid from near the right post.
  • After a sprawling Lavender made consecutive saves on Browning below the left circle early in the second frame, graduate student Mikaela Langbacka's centering pass hit a Saint Michael's skate, and the puck rebounded wide to Browning, who tallied on a vacated net at 1:37 to make it 2-1.
  • Late in the frame, Leys was denied deep in the left circle before the rebound came into the slot for Ruiz, who banged home the tying goal with 41 seconds remaining.
  • Hanrahan took a giveaway in the slot and buried the go-ahead marker 8:25 into the third, only to see Gerebi tuck the tying strike under Mudrak's blocker from the right circle at 10:53.
  • Lilley again staked her team to a one-goal lead with 16:41 gone, slipping home a shot from the right circle, but Canterbury snuck a shot of her own across the goal line with 14 seconds remaining in regulation with Lavender pulled for an extra skater, and the teams headed to overtime.
  • In the extra session, Lavender stopped sophomore Ava McGaffigan's initial shot before Vaughan drove in the winner from out front at 1:58.
