THE ACTION

• DeMarinis put the Hawks ahead 3:51 after the opening faceoff, stuffing home a rebound after junior Michael Martignetti's shot went directly off of the end boards.
• Burum finished a 2-on-1 rush with DeMarinis at 14:57 by going short side on Manahan before DeMarinis went to his blocker side from the slot just 36 seconds later.
• Baxter one-timed junior Quinn McCarthy's (Melrose, Mass./Holderness School) cross-ice pass at 17:49 to get Saint Michael's within 3-1.
• Plunkett made a pair of nice saves during the early portion of the second period, sliding across his crease to deny junior John Myers' bid from the left circle with 1:25 gone before turning away senior Chase Reynolds' point-blank bid out front at 6:47.
• Alberti added to the lead at 7:24, as senior Richie Colarusso's shot from deep in the slot hit him on the way to the net. Hoitt scored 1:03 later from the point directly off of first-year Brendan Manning's faceoff win.
• Ciancio trimmed the deficit to 5-2 on a power play at 11:59, taking space in the middle of the slot and picking the upper left corner.
• Macdonald created a two-goal margin 7:08 into the third period, picking Carroll's glove corner, and Plunkett maintained the margin with a left pad save of DeMarinis' move out front during a 1-on-1 with 9:33 gone.
• A missed Saint Michael's shot created a 2-on-1 breakout for the Hawks late in regulation, leading to Brackett one-timing home Burum's pass at 15:44.
