THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights held a 10-3 lead in shots during a scoreless first period.
- In the second period, junior Kyle Lee's (Buffalo, N.Y./Finlandia) bid from the left circle was turned away by Mastowski, but Winicki put home the rebound out front at 1:04.
- Only 34 seconds later, Ciancio backhanded in Winicki's pass into the slot to make it 2-0.
- With 11:20 gone, Frankel scored after taking a pass behind the defense and making a move on Plunkett.
- In the waning seconds, graduate student Dimitris Christou's dump from the right point was tipped in by King with 1.9 seconds remaining.
- Early in the third period, junior Jake Leale (Suffern, N.Y./Connecticut RoughRiders) sent a dump to the end boards and split a pair of Raven defenders to reach the loose puck first before slipping a pass through the slot for Ciancio, who reset to deke a defender before picking Mastowski's glove corner at 2:29.
- Plunkett made four saves in the ensuing two minutes alone while denying all 12 shots sent his way in the final period. The hosts gained a power play with 14:55 gone, but Plunkett stopped the lone bid in that two-minute stretch before saving a pair of bids with one second left in regulation to secure the victory.
