Women's Basketball Loses at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University, 91-52, during a Thursday matinee in the Bogota Savings Bank Center.

THE ACTION
  • Fairleigh Dickinson buried a pair of three-pointers en route to leading 7-0 by 7:37 of the opening stanza before Santos and Tyler converted consecutive hoops. The Purple Knights were down just 10-6 on Tyler's bucket at 5:20.
  • The host Knights responded with a 22-6 run, leading 32-12 on Conklin's triple at 8:37 of the second quarter.
  • Sophomore Bella Franchi (Colonie, N.Y./Colonie Central) knocked down a jumper 39 seconds later before Talbot's three at 6:43 trimmed the deficit to 15.
  • Santos (5) and Tyler (4) combined for their team's first nine points out of halftime to bring the Purple Knights within 52-35.
  • Brown netted the next two baskets as the hosts scored on three straight possessions to begin pulling away.
