Brzezinski Snaps Tie with 10.3 Seconds Remaining, Men's Basketball Clips Queens

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Senior Alan Brzezinski (Örebro, Sweden/Western Reserve Academy) hit tying and go-ahead free throws with 10.3 seconds remaining before pulling the clinching rebound in the Saint Michael's College men's basketball team's 57-56 victory over Queens (N.Y.) College on Tuesday evening in the Ross Sports Center.

THE ACTION

  • After three ensuing ties, Ayala scored five points in a 7-0 stretch that provided the visiting Knights a 25-18 lead by 7:05.
  • Brzezinski netted five points in a 7-0 run that later tied the teams at 27 with 3:21 to go, and the stretch extended to 16-3 by bridging halftime. Crews' pair of freebies at 17:55 made it 36-30, and Marold's basket increased the lead to 44-36 with 10:52 to go.
  • Queens put together a 12-2 run to forge ahead 52-48 on Ayala's lay-up at 2:21, and the visitors still led 54-51 on Tse's jumper at 1:38.
