WINCHENDON, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to Franklin Pierce University, 5-0, on Friday afternoon during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play at The Winchendon School's Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

THE ACTION
  • DeMarinis denied the Ravens' first 20 shots of the opening period before the hosts broke through on their final bid, as Rich tapped in Korneta's pass for a power-play goal with 1:04 remaining.
  • During 4-on-4 play, Murphy made it 2-0 1:05 into the second period, slipping a shot from the slot under DeMarinis' right pad.
  • Franklin Pierce scored twice during an ensuing major penalty. Maras pushed a loose puck across the goal line with 4:09 gone, and Cistolo picked the netminder's glove corner from the right circle at 5:31.
  • During a 20-second stretch beginning at 14:22, the Purple Knights peppered Bowler with six shots from six different players, but she stopped them all.
  • Maras snuck in a wide-angle shot 3:31 into the third period for her second tally.
