Women's Ice Hockey Caps Semester with Defeat at Franklin Pierce

WINCHENDON, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team capped its first-semester schedule with a 3-0 loss at Franklin Pierce University during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play on Saturday in The Winchendon School's Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

THE ACTION
  • Lavender rejected three consecutive early bids during a 20-second span of the first period before Stevens broke through soon after at 4:18, roofing a shot from the slot.
  • Senior Gaby Tribelli (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College) followed with a shot from above the left circle only 53 seconds later that forced Hertl into a left pad save.
  • At 6:53, Caumo added to the lead by tallying from the slot.
  • The Purple Knights earned three power-play opportunities in the second frame, but Hertl stopped all five shots sent her way.
  • Kelley scored on a power play at 7:30 of the third period, picking up a loose puck at the blue line before weaving through the defense and finishing up close.
