PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost at Pace University, 59-51, on Saturday during Northeast-10 Conference action in the Goldstein Center.

GAME NOTES
  • The Purple Knights had leads in rebounding (35-32), bench scoring (23-3), paint points (22-18), shooting (36.6%-36.2%) and made free throws (19-10), shooting 19-of-23 from the charity stripe to the hosts' 10-for-12 effort.
THE ACTION
  • Collins and Stockinger both netted three points in helping Pace to an 11-2 start by 6:38 of the opening quarter.
  • The Purple Knights trimmed the deficit to five points twice before Collins scored the final five points of the stanza en route to the Setters leading 25-12 by 9:08 of the second period.
  • Blake's four points keyed a 12-4 run that made it 29-24 with 1:50 to go.
  • Pace scored the next six points in a stretch that spanned halftime, but a pair of Blake baskets created six-point margins, and sophomore Ashlee Talbot's (Dracut, Mass./Dracut) free throw with 30 seconds left in the third period created a 40-35 tally.
  • Furch brought Saint Michael's within 42-40 on a stepback jumper at 7:45 of the fourth quarter, but Collins drilled a three 15 seconds later.
  • The visitors twice cut the hole to three points from there, but the hosts scored on their final five possessions to build upon a five-point contest and pull away.
