PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost to regionally-ranked Pace University, 65-41, on Saturday during Northeast-10 Conference play in the Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center. The Setters were sixth in this week's D2CSC East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- The hosts Setters were leading 5-2 at the seven-minute mark in the first quarter when the Purple and Gold went on an 8-0 run led by five points from Amber Furch to give the visitors a 10-5 lead at 4:06.
- Ryan knocked down two shots from beyond the arc, including one with 27 seconds left in the first quarter, to help Pace to an 8-2 run and a 13-12 lead at the end of the first stanza.
- The Purple Knights regained a three-point lead at 17-14 on Franchi's three at 3:47 in the second quarter.
- The Setters scored seven unanswered points in a three-minute span, capped off by Stockinger's three with 30 seconds left in the half, to give the hosts a 21-17 lead.
- Junior Molly Brophy (Greenwich, N.Y./Greenwich Central School) responded with a shot from beyond the arc of her own with 12 seconds remaining to cut the lead down to one heading into the locker rooms. Neither team led by more than five points in the first half.
- The Purple Knights stayed within two possessions of the Setters in the opening 4:53 of the third quarter until Pace went on a 7-0 run to begin to pull away.
- The Purple and Gold responded with a 5-0 run to cut the lead down to four points on Slaven's three-point play at 2:15.
- Pace knocked down two buckets in the final 38 seconds of the third quarter to extend its lead to nine at the end of the quarter.
- The Setters utilized a strong fourth quarter to pull away from the Purple Knights, outscoring the visitors 23-8 in the final frame.
