WILSON, N.C. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team lost to regionally-ranked Barton College, 8-7, in 10 innings on Wednesday at Nixon Field. The Bulldogs received votes toward the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) national poll and were seventh in this week's Southeast Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Kinsella launched his second home run in as many days with his second inning two-run shot to give the Purple and Gold a 2-0 lead.
- The Purple Knights doubled their lead in the top of the fifth on Kolifrath's two-run double to left that drove in Lanthier and Sevigny.  Â
- The Bulldogs cut the lead in the half in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single from senior Tanner Halvorson and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Waddell to score Laimo.
- The Bulldogs launched two home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead when Rivera hit a solo shot and Laimo knocked a two-run home run to give the Bulldogs a 5-4 lead.
- Balian tied the game at five in the top of the eighth inning with a solo home run to right center.
- The Bulldogs scored on two bases-loaded walks in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 7-5 lead.
- The Purple and Gold rallied in the top of the ninth when Kolifrath drove in Sevigny on a groundout to second and Lanthier scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at seven.
