Baseball Swept by Regionally-Ranked Franklin Pierce

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team lost both ends of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader to regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University, 11-3 and 6-2, on Thursday at Doc Jacobs Field. The Ravens were 10th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
  • The Ravens jumped ahead with four runs on four hits in the second inning, as four players drove in one run.
  • Wilichoski's RBI double extended the lead in the third before DeAndrade's two-run single keyed a four-run fourth that pushed Franklin Pierce's advantage to 9-0.
  • Evan Balian's ground-rule double in the sixth plated Cavossa, who had also doubled with two out.
  • The Ravens added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
  • Santos doubled in Cavossa in the bottom of the ninth before Evan Balian scored on an outfield error.
