COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College baseball team was swept in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader by regionally-ranked Southern Connecticut State University, 6-3 and 15-4 in seven innings, on Monday at Doc Jacobs Field. The Owls were ninth in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Drewry's two-run single made it 3-0 before a batter had been retired in the first inning.
- The Purple Knights responded with a pair of runs in the home half, as Cavossa's RBI groundout made it 3-1 before Gilboy's two-out RBI single plated sophomore Jack Weber (Milford, Conn./Notre Dame).
- After the rocky opening inning in his second career start, Trent Balian did not allow a hit to the next 13 batters, until the Owls pushed the lead to 4-2 on Fedeli's two-out RBI knock in the fifth.
- The visitors also plated single runs in the sixth and seventh, on Drewry's RBI double and Chacho's solo home run, respectively.
- Saint Michael's put three runners on base in the bottom of the ninth but got only one run, when Cavossa singled home Lanthier.

THE ACTION
- A wild pitch plated the Owls' first-inning run before the visitors scored nine runs on five hits in the second, when Droukas and Sullivan both knocked two-run doubles and Walker swatted a grand slam. Southern Connecticut State scored the game's first 14 runs.
- Santos doubled home Gilboy in the fourth and came around to score on Arseneault's single.
- Moynihan scored on an error in the fifth before Giardina doubled and was driven in by senior Nate Rogers (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) in the seventh.
