WORCESTER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team took down Assumption University, which received votes toward this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll, 15-13, on Wednesday during Northeast-10 Conference play at Brian Kelly Stadium.

The Purple Knights, who started 3-1 in league play for the second time in four years, were fourth in this week's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) poll. The Greyhounds are third.

GAME FACTS
- Wilson pushed his career ground ball total to 214, passing Kevin Simmons '08 (213) to take over second in program history. He trails only Justin Richmond '21 (245).
- Regan came within one save of his career high while backstopping the Purple Knights to victory despite being outshot 61-34.
- Saint Michael's held Assumption to an 0-for-6 showing man up.
- The teams played their fifth consecutive meeting decided by three goals or fewer, with the Purple Knights winning in Worcester for the first time since 2016.

THE ACTION
- Healey's strike provided Assumption a 3-2 lead 27 seconds into the second period, but the Purple Knights rattled off the next five goals in a matter of 5:30 to take control. Chirgwin tallied twice, including the go-ahead marker at 12:59, while Reyes and Simonson both had a goal and an assist.
- Murphy's goal with 2:45 left pushed the lead to 9-4, and the teams traded three-goal runs between late in the third quarter and early in the fourth, with Murphy scoring to make it 13-8 at 13:28 of the final stanza.
- Four Greyhounds scored in a 4-0 run that brought the hosts within 13-12 on Healey's goal with 3:41 left, but Murphy countered just 42 seconds later, scooping a ground ball off of Hughes' saved shot and tallying from up close. Simonson scored 39 ticks after that, at 2:20, after taking Morgan's feed along the crease.
- McGrath found the net with nine seconds left, but Wilson won the ensuing draw and picked up the ground ball before running out the clock.
