Five First-Half Scorers Lift Men's Soccer Past Fisher

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Five players scored in the opening 32 minutes as the Saint Michael's College men's soccer team blanked Fisher College, 5-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Duffy Field.

  • Pescina put Saint Michael's ahead with just 7:02 gone, firing a shot from the edge of the box through Navarro's outstretched hands and into the upper left corner.
  • Only 2:10 later, Salamanca Lopez gathered a failed clear in the Fisher final third and slipped a shot inside the left post.
  • Schramm buried a free kick at 12:24, his team's third tally in a matter of 5:22.
  • Riby-Williams tapped home a rebound of Pescina's saved shot in the 25th minute before Qirjazi headed in junior Xolo Miralles' (Vinaròs, Spain/IES Leopoldo Querol/Otero) corner kick entry during the 32nd minute.
  • Boudreau maintained his shutout with a diving save of junior Joseph Reynolds' bid for the lower right side in the 37th minute for what proved to be the netminder's toughest stop.
