ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's cross country team finished ninth and the men placed 15th in a field deep with Division I, II and III powers on Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan University's Anderson Invitational. Sophomore Fran Peterson (Barron, Wis./Barron) placed 24th among 255 finishers in the women's race, while first-year Jersey Miller (Minneapolis, Minn./Saint Louis Park) narrowly trailed in 27th.
 
TEAM RESULTS

• The women's field featured four of the top seven teams from most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II East Region poll, three ranked top nine in the USTFCCCA Division III Niagara Region poll, and Division I Cornell University, the team champion with 18 points. The Big Red was 14th in the latest Division I Northeast Region rankings.
• The Purple Knight women placed ninth among 26 teams, totaling 279 points to trim 10th-place D'Youville University, the sixth-ranked team in the last East Region poll.
• On the men's side, champion Cornell (17) was seventh in the most recent USTFCCCA Division I Northeast Region poll, while three of the top eight in the Division II East Region and four of the top eight in the Division III Niagara Region competed. Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which is eighth in the Division II Atlantic, also took part in a loaded field.
• The Saint Michael's men placed 15th among 30 teams with 400 points.
