MANCHESTER, N.H. - A trio of Saint Michael's College men's and women's cross country runners claimed top-three finishes on Saturday at Saint Anselm College's season-opening Shacklette Invitational.

Fran Peterson (Barron, Wis./Barron) were runners-up in their respective races, while first-year
Jersey Miller (Minneapolis, Minn./Saint Louis Park) was third in her college debut.

TEAM RESULTS
- The Saint Michael's women placed second among four schools with 38 points, short of host Saint Anselm (23). The Purple and Gold men took third out of four with 48 points, two shy of the runner-up Hawks.
- The Purple Knight women were third in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region poll, with Saint Anselm eighth.
- Plymouth State's men, who won with 28 points, were 10th in the most recent USTFCCCA Division III East Region rankings.
