Jerylo Pots Pair, Women's Ice Hockey Rallies Past Post, 3-2

SHELTON, Conn. - Sophomore Anna Jerylo's (Stillwater, Minn./Gentry Academy) second goal at 11:45 of the third period put the Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team in front to stay during a 3-2 victory against Post University on Saturday during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

THE ACTION
  • During a scoreless first period, Lavender (9) and Saunders (8) combined to stop all 17 shots sent their way.
  • Wysocki broke the stalemate at 10:44 of the second frame, slipping to the front of the net and tipping home Mickevicius' pass.
  • Only 4:03 later, Wysocki made it 2-0 after winning a faceoff, releasing to the slot, and one-timing Ringor's pass.
  • Jerylo halved the deficit before the intermission, stuffing in a rebound while sliding across the goal mouth with 18:13 gone. Callander and first-year Alicia McDonald (Clearwater, Fla./East Ottawa Junior Stars U22 AA) assisted.
  • Nelson tied the game at 4:57 of the third period, backhanding a shot in the slot after LeBlanc jostled with an Eagle defender for possession of the puck. Newpower added the secondary helper.
  • Jerylo found the winner at 11:45, chipping a rebound past Saunders from out front. Callander and first-year Julia Chedel (Haverhill, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) assisted.
  • Lavender later made a pair of stops on a Post power play that began at 12:25 and had two more saves after the hosts pulled Saunders for an extra skater with 1:49 remaining. Hetman blocked three shots in that closing stretch.
