• The Purple and Gold edged the Eagles in faceoffs (36-28) and blocked shots (12-10).
• The Eagles' power-play unit was 2-for-6 on the night, while the Purple Knights went 1-for-5 while also scoring a short-handed goal.
• Manahan made 18 saves in the first period, and combined for just 14 saves in the final two periods, stopping 14 and three shots in the second and third periods, respectively.

THE ACTION

• The Purple Knights struck first at 3:32 of the opening period when Macdonald scored a short-handed goal on an assist from Bloom to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
• Post responded at 12:11 when Canady scored on a wrist shot between the faceoff circles to equalize on the power play.
• The Eagles scored again two minutes later at 14:11 when Kimball scored from the right side of the crease for another power-play goal, making the score 2-1.
• Post doubled its lead at 10:42 when senior Trey DeLoury sent a breakout pass for Norling, who then slotted the puck on the left side of the cage to make the score 3-1.
• Winicki cut the lead down at 5:11 on a power-play goal in front of the net on the rebound of his own shot to make the score 3-2. Ciancio and Bloom added helpers.
• The Purple Knights pulled Manahan with 1:21 remaining in the third period for an extra skater but were unable to equalize.
