THE ACTION

  • Connolly split a pair of defenders down the seam to gain a breakaway before backhanding home a shorthanded bid at 13:19 of the opening frame to make it 2-0.
  • The Purple Knights drew within a goal at 9:03 of the second period when Quinn crashed the net and tallied a 5-on-3 power-play strike after shots from Jerylo and McDonald were both stopped.
  • Leys tied the game with 13:01 gone after winning a faceoff back to the point for Quinn, whose shot was tipped out of the air by Leys from out front.
  • Turcotte put Stonehill back ahead at 18:53 when her shot took an odd bounce in the crease and found the net.
  • Sophomore Alizée LeBlanc (Dieppe, New Brunswick/Ridley College) had a tying bid denied by Caron at 17:32 of the third period before Saint Michael's pulled DeMarinis for an extra skater on the ensuing faceoff, but Feeney padded the lead 54 seconds later by finding the open net.
