POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team tied the State University of New York at Potsdam, 3-3, for the second straight day on Saturday in Maxcy Ice Arena. The Bears won the ensuing shootout, 2-1, avenging the Purple Knights' shootout victory by the same score on Friday.

THE ACTION
- Bloom gave the Purple Knights a lead 3:28 into the contest, sending a centering pass off of a Bear defender and past Werber.
- Loran tied the game at 18:08 of the opening frame, one-timing Mahlmeister's pass into the slot.
- With only nine second to go, Bavis tipped in Kantgias' blast from the left point to provide the visitors a 2-1 lead.
- Mahlmeister tied the game 4:09 into the second period by picking Manahan's blocker corner from the slot to cap a lengthy 4-on-4 possession in the Purple Knight end.
- Watson converted a pass between the circles at 16:37 to give the Bears their first lead.
- Midway through the third period, Ciancio went coast-to-coast en route to picking Werber's blocker corner from above the right circle, forcing the game's third tie.
- During the 3-on-3 overtime, Loran had two good looks from in close with around a minute remaining, but Manahan denied both, and the teams officially ended the extra session with a tie.
- For the second straight day, senior Ryland Dukes (Nashville, Tenn./Walpole Express) scored in the shootout, giving Saint Michael's a 1-0 edge, before sophomore Jakub Hall and Watson wrapped goals around a Purple Knight hitting the post. In the third round, Werber's save of the Purple and Gold's final attempt clinched the shootout win.
