GAME FACTS
- After winning 11 games last year, the Purple Knights now have 21 victories the last two seasons, the winningest two-year span in program history. They last notched double-figure win totals in consecutive years each fall between 2000 and 2002.
- Kosiba became the third Purple Knight to record four assists in a game, joining Nicole Cremo '95 (Oct. 19, 1994) and Molly McCarthy '04 (Aug. 31, 2002). She also became the seventh Purple Knight with three assists in a half, registering a trio in the opening stanza on Wednesday. Laura Ostrout '12 had most recently turned the feat, on Aug, 29, 2008.
- Kosiba is the third NCAA Division II player to hand out four helpers this season, all coming since this past weekend: Thomas More (Ky.) University's Amy Bos had four assists on Saturday before McKendree (Ill.) University's Maggie Gleckler did the same on Sunday.
- Kosiba is the first East Region player to bag four assists since Mercy University's Ancksu Dixon on Oct. 19, 2022, and the first from the Northeast 10 Conference since Saint Anselm College's Nicole White on Sept. 3, 2017.
- Laizer tied Abigail Lemanski's '04 23-year-old program record for season wins (10). She is also tied for 10th in school annals in career victories.
- Brookes notched her fourth game-winning goal of the season, tying the most by a Purple Knight since full records became available in 1996; Meghann Kelly '00 (1998) and Hannah Beggan '02 (2000) are the program's only other players known to have four game-winners in a season. Brookes' seven career winners tie her for fourth in school history.
- The Purple Knights improved to 6-0 all-time against the perennial USCAA national title contender, taking all 31 of the game's shots and all 12 corner kicks.
THE ACTION
- Less than a minute after entering the game, Kosiba sent a through ball for Brookes, who curled a shot past a charging Thaw at 20:12.
- Just 26 seconds later, Kosiba sent a short pass for junior Bridget Hanley (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield), who carried through a few Bengals before slipping a through ball that Gormley finished on the back side.
- Kosiba's cross-box pass in the 28th minute was finished by Kelso, whose slow shot on net snuck across the goal line after Thaw slipped.
- In the 67th minute, first-year Adney Brannigan (Nantucket, Mass./Nantucket) had a shot blocked during a corner kick sequence, and Kleinman pounced on the rebound near the left post.
- Kosiba served a corner kick in the 79th minute that took a couple bounces through the box before Barnett headed a shot just inside the left post.
