COLCHESTER, Vt. - Sophomores
Lola Follansbee (Grafton, Mass./Grafton) and
Jules Peterson (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) both scored their first college goals, with Peterson netting a pair, to help the regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College women's soccer team blank American International College, 4-0, on Saturday during Northeast 10 Conference action at Duffy Field. The Purple Knights, who tied a school record with their 11th win, were seventh in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region poll.

- The Purple Knights have won a school-record 11 games in consecutive seasons.
- Saint Michael's posted four double-assisted goals, with the eight helpers the Purple and Gold's most since Oct. 6, 2004. They were the Purple Knights' most ever in an NE10 affair.
- Laizer broke a tie with Abigail Lemanski '04 (2002) atop the program's season wins list, as she now has 11. She moved into a tie for ninth in school annals in career victories with Katie Escobedo '23.
- Laizer tied Ashleigh Adams' '12 program rookie record with her sixth shutout, and now stands two shy of the overall school mark. She is also already tied for seventh at Saint Michael's in career clean sheets.
- Saint Michael's took 30 of the game's 31 shots and held a 5-0 lead in corner kicks.
THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights broke through in the 17th minute, as Follansbee sent a through ball to the right flank for Peterson, who finished through a leaping Avery's fingertips. Brookes also assisted.
- In the 34th minute, Kleinman ran on to Crowell's through ball for her second goal in as many games. Sophomore Elisa Damori (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lakeridge) added a helper.
- The hosts pulled away with two goals in a matter of 2:01 in the second half. On the initial strike, Peterson received Brookes' pass before cutting back and curling a left-footed strike around three defenders in the 63rd minute. Junior Bridget McLoughlin (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) also assisted. For the second goal, Crowell laid a pass for Follansbee, whose one-touch hit the upper left corner. Sophomore Sam McDonough (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) set up the sequence with a takeaway and drive along the left sideline.
