THE ACTION
  • Jarvis put the Purple Knights ahead at 15:00 of the first period with a shorthanded marker. After tapping a Pioneer pass off the boards, Jarvis caught up to the loose puck in the neutral zone and zoomed in alone on Petruno, finishing to her five-hole.
  • Just 23 seconds later, Bowlby's shot eluded a sprawling Lavender on the power play after a teammate's initial bid from the point was knocked down out front.
  • Morden put Sacred Heart ahead with 18:47 gone, picking Lavender's blocker corner from the blue line.
  • Lavender stopped 22 shots in the second period, including eight during a 3:50 stretch of a Pioneer power play. However, Bowlby netted the lone strike just three seconds after the woman advantage ended, sending a shot through a screen from the blue line.
  • The Purple Knights were within 3-1 until the late stages of the third period, as Bowlby finished her hat trick at 11:48 before the hosts scored twice in the final 1:05, first on an empty and then on a power play.
