BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost an exhibition game to Division I University of Vermont, 68-34, on Thursday evening in Patrick Gymnasium.

THE ACTION

• Saint Michael's was down only 5-2 on junior Bella Franchi's (Colonie, N.Y./Colonie Central) lefthanded driving layup with 3:29 left in the opening quarter.
• Vermont forged ahead 19-5 at 5:07 of the second stanza, but Cieplicki and sophomore Margaret Montplaisir (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth) drilled consecutive three-pointers 20 seconds apart to close the gap to eight points.
• The Catamounts used four three-point possessions down the stretch to lead 35-18 at halftime.
• Talbot's bucket 30 seconds into the third period drew Saint Michael's within 15, but it came no closer.

• Nov. 15 against Holy Family University at the College of Staten Island's Women's Basketball Conference Challenge, 7 p.m.
