COLCHESTER, Vt. - Six Saint Michael's College women's soccer players qualified for College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division II Academic All-District honors, it was announced on Tuesday.

Faith Kosiba (Dunstable, Mass./Groton-Dunstable Regional) was recognized for the third time, while junior
Bridget McLoughlin (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) and sophomores
Scarlett Brookes (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls),
Sarah Gormley (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach),
Jules Peterson (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and
Josie Rayhill (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) all secured their initial honors.

Saint Michael's was one of three Northeast 10 Conference programs with the maximum six qualifiers. The six Purple Knights were among 36 total from the NE10.

College Sports Communicators, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), moved to a qualification system for All-District accolades in 2022, with major contributors toting at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average by their sophomore seasons eligible. Each school was able to put six student-athletes forward for an award that previously necessitated voting. Instead, All-District honorees can now advance directly to the Academic All-America ballot, which will still incorporate national membership voting.

Kosiba turned in a career-high seven assists while also scoring the game-winner at Southern Connecticut State University, as seven of her 13 career tallies went as winners. The captain holds a 3.89 GPA as a health science and education studies double major. She was named NE10 Academic All-Conference last season, and owns six NE10 Academic Honor Roll nods and two Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards.

McLoughlin started all 20 games in the backfield this year, aiding a defense that set a school record for shutouts (13) and posted the second-lowest goals-against average (0.70) in program annals. She owns 49 starts in 55 career games. A political science and environmental science double major with a 3.90 GPA, McLoughlin has earned four NE10 Academic Honor Roll accolades and one D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Brookes was named NE10 Player of the Year after leading the league with 13 goals, 31 points and six game-winning tallies, doing her damage in just 16 games. The accounting major holds a 3.96 GPA and has twice qualified for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll.

An NE10 All-Conference second team selection, Gormley set a career high with seven assists while matching her best in points (15) this fall. She claims a 3.84 GPA as a neuroscience major and twice landed on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll.

In her first season as a major contributor, Peterson scored a pair of goals out of the midfield while lending six assists. The education and psychology double major has a 3.81 GPA and earned a spot on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll twice.

Rayhill emerged as a starting back for the first time while keying the Purple Knights' record-setting defense, ultimately landing a position on the NE10 All-Conference second team. The business administration major has a 3.69 GPA and twice earned NE10 Academic Honor Roll citations.

Through the Academic All-America program, CSC names separate Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams at each the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III levels, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
