RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost to East Region wins leader Felician University, 75-70, on Friday afternoon in Job Gymnasium.

THE ACTION
  • Felician scored 10 of the game's first 12 points en route to leading 14-5 by 2:52 of the first quarter on Valle's jumper, but the Purple Knights needed only 70 seconds to score the next eight points, five of which Tyler netted, to draw within a single point.
  • The hosts countered with an 8-0 run to lead 22-13 at 8:09 of the second on Valle's basket, and the advantage ballooned to 28-16 on Formby's three-point play with 4:14 to go.
  • Talbot's three-point play with nine seconds left had Saint Michael's down 34-29 at halftime before the Golden Falcons scored the first six points of the third stanza, ultimately leading by as much as 44-31 at 6:13.
  • With Felician still ahead 49-37, the Purple Knights used an 11-4 run to make it 53-48 on Franchi's pair of free throws at 8:34 of the fourth period.
  • Consecutive hoops by Formby and Szilvassy produced a 59-50 margin at 6:19, and the hosts still led by eight points with less than a minute to go.
  • After Talbot turned in another three-point play with 49 seconds left, Tyler forced a steal, and Talbot's bucket cut the deficit to 71-68 with 43 seconds left.
  • Junior Deviney Jackson's lay-up eight seconds later pushed the lead back to five and, after Santos countered with a hoop with 23 ticks remaining, the teams exchanged turnovers. Valle's pair of free throws at 19 seconds sealed the win.
