Women's Basketball Loses at Caldwell

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost to Caldwell University, 67-47, on Sunday in the Newman Center. For the second time in three days on their road trip, the Purple Knights fell against the NCAA East Region leader in victories.

THE ACTION
  • The Purple Knights were down just 9-8 after Montplaisir hit a three-pointer at 6:23 of the first quarter before Lewis scored the next six points to spark an 8-0 run, and Corbett's lay-up made it 25-12 by 1:22.
  • Aguilar's three-pointer at 5:08 of the second quarter extended the lead to 39-19, but Tyler's putback at 8:38 of the third period brought the visitors within 42-29. That came amid a run of Tyler scoring 11 consecutive Saint Michael's points.
  • Lewis knocked down a pair of free throws 16 seconds later, igniting an 11-1 run that put the Cougars in control.
