WALTHAM, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team trimmed Northeast 10 Conference foe Bentley University, 76-74, on Saturday in the Dana Center.

THE ACTION
  • Kenney's three-pointer - his team's third in a row - had Saint Michael's up 9-3 by 17:21 of the opening half before McClure converted a three-point play 21 seconds later, and neither team led by more than five points during the remainder of the stanza.
  • Seven straight points from Farrall sparked a 9-0 run that gave Bentley a 21-17 edge at 10:14, accounting for one of eight lead swings in the half. The visitors were down 40-38 at intermission following Floyd's lay-in with 34 seconds left.
  • Briscoe and Kenney knocked down consecutive triples to provide Saint Michael's a 54-47 lead by 15:49 of the second half before McClure's three put Bentley back in front at 11:18 (59-58).
  • Littleton dropped a lay-up 32 seconds later before Floyd capped the go-ahead 8-0 run with a basket of his own at 7:33 (66-59).
  • Sophomore Osiris Nalls tied the game with a lay-up with 4:49 to go, but Floyd countered with hoops at 4:35 and 4:01, and the visitors led until the final buzzer.
  • McClure's jumper made it 74-73 at 2:18, but the teams combined to miss their final six shots. Kenney extended the lead to three points with a pair of free throws at 8.6 seconds, and the Purple Knights fouled to keep Bentley from attempting a tying three. Clarke made the first free throw with two ticks left but missed the second, and Briscoe corralled the clinching rebound.
