THE ACTION
  • Lavender slid across her crease to deny Spadone's shot from out wide at 13:58 of the first period to keep the teams scoreless.
  • During a Saint Michael's power play, sophomore Julia Chedel (Haverhill, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) rung the left post with 18:14 gone before Stone stopped first-year Kyler Weatherred's (Eagle, Colo./Team Colorado AAA Hockey Club) pass from the left circle that hit junior Isabel Goolie's (Anchorage, Alaska/Gilmour Academy) skate in the low slot.
  • Stonehill netted the period's lone goal at 19:34, as first-year Summer Combe redirected sophomore Reagan Whynot's pass toward the edge of the crease.
  • Spadone and Achtyl scored 1:34 apart early in the second period, with Spadone tapping in senior Lucie Turcotte's backdoor pass at 2:13 and Achtyl knocking in a loose puck at 3:47. Achtyl scored again on a power play with 12:09 gone, and the Skyhawks added two goals in the third period.
  • Sophomore Brianna Jarvis (Swanton, Vt./BFA-Saint Albans) leaked out for a pair of breakaway chances 40 seconds apart in the first 1:55 of the third frame, but Stone stopped both, including as Jarvis deked to her backhand on the first attempt.
  • During a power play shortly thereafter, Chedel had a bid turned away 3:23 before Jarvis' bid on the rebound was stopped.
