COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost to regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College, 86-82, on Tuesday evening during Northeast-10 Conference action in the Ross Sports Center. The Hawks were ranked 10th in this week's D2 CSC East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- The teams exchanged seven leads in the first 4:36 of the contest, and neither squad led by more than four points until Kenney knocked down a three-pointer at 10:28 of the opening period (23-18).
- The lead slowly grew to 31-22 by 6:38, when first-year Abdur-Rahman De Leon (Roxbury, Mass./Saint Thomas More School) hit a stepback jumper.
- Four Hawks scored in a tying 9-0 response, but Kenney's lay-up at 2:46 put his team back in front, and the hosts carried a 43-36 advantage into halftime.
- Saint Michael's never trailed during the opening nearly 10 minutes of the second half while leading by as many as seven points, but Saint Anselm forced five ties between 14:53 and 11:15. The visitors ultimately used a 9-2 run to forge ahead 67-63 on Ramirez's lay-in with 9:25 to go.
- Taylor's fastbreak hoop extended the lead to 76-70 with 4:11 left, but Kenney's triple at 2:31 capped a quick 7-0 spurt, accounting for the first of four lead swings in a matter of 44 seconds. Morissette's three at 1:47 put his team in front for good (81-79).
- Crews knocked down a tough three in front of his bench with 31 seconds left to cut the deficit to 83-82, and an ensuing steal gave the Purple Knights a lay-up attempt that was missed. Davies grabbed the rebound and hit two free throws.
- Down three, Saint Michael's had a look at a tying three with 11 seconds to go, but Archer pulled the board and hit a clinching free throw.
