Women's Ice Hockey Loses to Franklin Pierce in NEWHA Weekend Opener

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to Franklin Pierce University, 4-0, on Friday evening during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play in Cairns Arena.

THE ACTION
  • Korneta put the Ravens ahead 2:45 after the opening faceoff, backhanding home a shot from out front.
  • The Purple Knights held a 7-6 shots lead in the first stanza, but the visitors doubled their advantage when a point-blank bid from Maras trickled across the goal line at 11:38.
  • Dans made 10 stops in the second frame, when Dean knocked in a rebound after 4:54 for the only scoring, making it 3-0.
