Women's Ice Hockey Downed by Franklin Pierce on Senior Day

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost their regular-season finale to Franklin Pierce University, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon during New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) play in Cairns Arena.
 
The Purple Knights honored their three seniors during the contest: Grace Canterbury (Eagle River, Alaska/Shattuck-Saint Mary's School), Angelina Ruiz (Independence, Minn./Gentry Academy), and Gaby Tribelli (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College).

THE ACTION
  • Lavender and DeMarinis combined for 16 saves in the first period, while Bowler stopped nine shots to keep the score at 0-0 after one period of action.
  • The Ravens scored the first goal of the game 2:40 into the second period on a tap-in in front of the crease from Kelley to make it 1-0.
  • Aanenson doubled the lead at 9:32 on a back-door opportunity to give the Ravens a 2-0 lead.
  • Levinson scored the third goal of the second period at 14:16 on an unassisted breakaway.
  • First-year Jodie Gratton (Saint Albans, Vt./Proctor Academy) nearly struck for the Purple Knights 1:37 into the final period, but her shot hit the crossbar and the hosts could not convert.
