GAME FACTS
  • Simonson pushed his career point total to 161, passing Pete Donnally '13 (156) to take over third in program history. He is just one shy of Brian Loughlin '18 (162) for second. Simonson also moved into sixth in career assists (55).
  • Simonson became the seven Purple Knight to score 10 points in a game, and the first since Greg Gosier '02 on March 30, 2002. All other 10-point games in program annals occurred in 1994 or earlier.
  • Reyes now has 91 career points after scoring the most goals by a Purple Knight since Rick Saba '92 also netted eight on April 6, 1992. Reyes came within one strike of matching Ray Roch's '87 39-year-old program mark, set on April 19, 1986.
  • Wilson tied a school record he already shared with Justin Richmond '21 for faceoff victories in a game. With 468 for his career, he is 27 short of Richmond's program standard.
  • The Purple Knights moved to 2-0 in the all-time series after also defeating the Saints last season.
  • Saint Michael's scored its most goals in a road contest since potting 26 at Vermont State University Castleton on April 18, 2002.
THE ACTION
  • Rookies Drake and Veroneau accounted for the game's first two goals, with Veroneau's second tally at 8:49 of the opening period making it 3-0.
  • Seniors took care of the next 14 goals, as the Purple Knights extended upon an 11-6 advantage early in the third quarter by scoring 12 of the final 18 goals.
  • A 6-0 run to begin the fourth quarter nearly doubled the Purple and Gold's seven-goal edge entering the frame.
