COLCHESTER, Vt. - Five Saint Michael's College men's and women's cross country student-athletes earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the fall season, while both teams were recognized with academic accolades.

Sophomores
Kennedy Holsapple (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme),
Fran Peterson (Barron, Wis./Barron) and
Andrew Scanio (Lake Placid, N.Y./Lake Placid) and first-years
Andrew Cole (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and
Jersey Miller (Minneapolis, Minn./Saint Louis Park) were all lauded, as student-athletes toting a cumulative 3.25 grade-point average through the fall who finished among the top 30% at an NCAA regional championship are eligible. Holsapple, Peterson and Scanio were all recognized for the second straight year.

Cole and Scanio were among 297 men's qualifiers from around the nation, including 18 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Scanio came within one placement of his second career NE10 All-Conference qualification while earning NE10 Academic All-Conference for this past fall, when he was 22nd at the NE10 Championship and 27th at the NCAA East Regional Championship. Cole took 38th at NE10s and 60th at regionals.

Miller and Peterson both landed USTFCCCA East Regional All-Region and NE10 All-Conference first team accolades this past fall, with Miller named NE10 Rookie of the Year. A two-time all-region and all-league performer, Peterson also claimed her first NE10 Academic All-Conference accolade. Holsapple was 23rd at NE10s, just two spots shy of posting her second career all-league finish, and placed 49th at regionals. In all, 401 Division II women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic, with 14 hailing from the NE10.

Teams that carry a minimum 3.0 GPA and score at regionals are eligible for a USTFCCCA All-Academic team accolade. The Purple Knight women tied for 26th among 124 such squads, leading six NE10 programs, thanks to a 3.70 GPA. The men tied for 27th out of 114 nationally and took second among five NE10 schools at 3.49. Both teams are guided by
Molly Peters, who just finished her 19th year with the women and fourth with the men.
