RINDGE, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team defeated Franklin Pierce University, 85-66, during Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday in the FPU Fieldhouse.

THE ACTION
  • Crews buried a pair of early three-pointers to help the Purple Knights lead 10-4 by 16:01 of the opening half, and another Crews triple made it 20-10 before Henaghen's tip-in had his team up 12 at 12:22.
  • Henaghen knocked down a three to extend the advantage to 29-15 with 10:34 left, but sophomore Trevon Thomas hit two threes to spark a 17-6 run that brought Franklin Pierce within 35-32 on sophomore Pierce Prendergast's triple at 2:31. Hall had seven points in the stretch.
  • De Leon responded with a three 20 seconds later and made another three as the run grew to 14-0 while carrying into the second half. The visitors were up 49-32 at 18:50.
  • Pope's three cut the deficit to 49-40 with 17:25 to go, but Crews converted a lay-up on the next possession, and the Purple Knights never again led by fewer than 11 points. Saint Michael's was ahead by as much as 74-54 when Duniver canned a trey at 6:20.
