Simonson Becomes Men's Lacrosse's All-Time Points Leader in Win Over Bridgeport

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Senior Sebastian Simonson (Spruce Grove, Alberta/Spruce Grove Composite) notched eight points while becoming the Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team's career leader in points during a 17-2 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Sunday at Duffy Field. The homestanding Purple Knights received votes toward the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll.

GAME FACTS
  • Simonson entered the day trailing only Mike Riddell '88 (173) on the program's all-time points list, with 166. He recorded five points by halftime, including four assists, before burying man-up markers at 1:24 of the third quarter and 14:47 of the fourth to tie Riddell. Only 30 seconds later, he scored again for his record 174th point. Simonson is second at Saint Michael's in goals (113), within 14 of Pete Donnally '13 (127), and stands sixth in assists (57).
  • Reyes now has 99 career points, as 24 Purple Knights have reached the 100-point plateau.
  • Saint Michael's is 4-0 for the first time while moving to 3-0 in its all-time series with Bridgeport.
